Whilst BTG staff work within contracted guidelines and frameworks they are empowered and driven by the âwhatever it takesâ mentality. Whatever it takes to ensure that each client is given the time, resources and support they need to ensure that no matter where their starting point is they are able to work towards the ultimate goal of contributing back to the community through specialised activities or through employment. Clients are treated with a mindfulness of their individual circumstances, respect, empathy and cultural sensitivity.
Our CEO represents BTG on a wide variety of committees, advising on Government and Community Sector initiatives such as the South West Economic Development Committee. This group is comprised of key industry employers, local Government and community representatives commissioned by DEEWR to develop a regional workforce development plan. The plan aims to give an insight into the future directions and strategies being employed by the major players in local government, construction, tourism, manufacturing and retail industries in the region.
BTG has partnered with industry and educational sectors to develop culturally sensitive programs to skill and mentor all clients to successfully take advantage of employment opportunities. For example BTG has worked very closely and has partnered with the Medina Aboriginal Cultural Community, Peet Limited, Town of Kwinana and BHP (Nickel West) to open Ngulla Nursery providing hands-on education and training to a range of young people including the indigenous. In partnership with Murray House, certificate courses in skill gap areas of horticulture and Conservation and Land Management have been delivered in conjunction with National Green Jobs projects.
