 WHAT IS THIS COURSE ABOUT? 

At Bridging the Gap we offer Certificate I in Work Preparation, this course is an introductory course preparing you for work readiness. The Certificate I in Work Preparation provides the basic life skills training for people entering the workforce.

In this course we can help you to find your career path and you will then gain confidence from the basic skills and knowledge you will learn to assist you in applying for jobs and embarking on your personal career journey.

• Occupational Health and Safety
• Resume writing
• Communication skills training
• Job networks
• How to job search

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GAIN ENTRY INTO THIS COURSE?

This course does not have any prerequisties for entry.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE THIS COURSE?

It is anticipated that students enrolling in this course will take 4 months to complete the required units and assessments.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Students will need to demonstrate that they are competent in all aspects of each unit of competency within this qualification. At Bridging the Gap we use many methods of skill and knowlegde assessment. We pride ourselve on creating a comfortable and relaxed assessment environment and cater to the needs of each individual student.

WILL I BE ELIGIBLE FOR GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE?

If you are a Jobs Services Australia or Centrelink client contact your Jobs Services Provider. Alternatively for information on government assistance please visit the the Australian Department of Human Services website.

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR MY PRIOR EXPERIENCES AND STUDY TO BE RECOGNISED?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available on request. RPL assesses the current competencies of each individual candidate. Candidates may have achieved skills in their study, work and life experience. See our RPL information page for more details.

WHERE WILL THIS COURSE TAKE ME?

On completion of your Certificate I in Work Preparation your future options are open to entering the workplace or continuing on to further study.
