As I reflect on 2021 I see that, despite the challenges still caused by Covid-19, we have had a significant and positive impact in our community. And I thank you for your part.
We simply couldn’t do what we do without our funders. In particular, I thank the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment, Department of Training and Workforce Development WA and LotteryWest for their wonderful support of BTG in 2021.
To all the local emplyers who worked with us, providing sustainable employment opportunities to people in our community, I thank you for giving someone a chance to reach for their dreams.
I wish a happy and healthy festive season to the wonderful clients we have been so lucky to work with. I thank you for trusting us with your employment journey and congratulate you on your successes.
I wholeheartedly thank our board who continue to support me as Chair and on whose knowledge, advice and support I rely on and appreciate immensely.
This year we welcomed two more Directors in Eileen Heath and Mike Arnold. Together we have guided Bridging the Gap through another year affected by Covid-10.
I welcome and thank our new CEO, Kary Macliver, whose expertise and inspiring leadership is already having a positive and constructive impact.
Our staff are truly committed and passionate about supporting people in our communities to achieve their goals. I thank you all for providing your knowledge, skills, and care to our community.
Bridging the Gap has been going strong for 38 years, and we are still in a strong position to continue our life-changing impact in the community, to continue to empower our community to strive for the best future for themselves and their families.
From my family to yours, I wish you all a safe and very Merry Christmas.
Les Hayward, Chair
