Prepare yourself for work

We are here to help you be as work ready as we know you can be.

Employability Skills Training (EST) courses are part of the Department Education Skills and Employment’s Youth PaTH initiative to help young people gain the skills needed for employment. 

You can access our courses in person or online. EST courses are free if you are an eligible jobseekers aged between 15 and 24 years. You will need to be referred through your jobactive provider.

The EST course is made up of two blocks and each training block runs for a three week period. Classes are 9am to 4pm Monday to Thursday. Our courses are available in:

  • Armadale
  • Cannington
  • Fremantle
  • Gosnells
  • Mandurah
  • Victoria Park.

 

Block One focuses on pre-employment skills and prepares you to meet the expectations of employers.

Block Two is about job preparation and gives you:

  •  advanced job hunting skills
  •  career development
  • interview skills
  • the chance to take part in Industry Awareness Experiences (IAE).

IAEs provide you with an insight into the tasks and duties of different industries.

We will also work with you to find internships in your field of interest, when you have finished the course.

In response to our online survey a massive 96% of participants answered strongly agree or agree with the statement:

93% strongly agreed or agreed with the statement:

”.
