Bridging the Gap has designed a customised program for parents – supported by Lotterywest.
Bridging the Gap’s Parents, Learning, Advancing, Nurturing (PLAN) project is designed to help vulnerable parents with crisis prevention and early intervention in order to help them and their children gain financial and emotional stability. It is funded by a Lotterywest Prevention and Early Intervention grant stream under the Supporting the Most Vulnerable category. PLAN is scheduled to run for 21 months, from October 2021 until June 2023 for vulnerable parents living in the Mandurah, Rockingham, or Kwinana local government areas.
THROUGH ONE TO ONE AND GROUP ACTIVITIES WE WILL HELP YOU WITH:
1. Self-development – such as how to improve your self-esteem, confidence, & motivation .
2. Health and wellbeing – healthy lifestyle, help dealing with addictions, mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and stress.
3. Career development – including further education and training, finding a career path, effective job search strategies and assistance with becoming work ready, and finding employment when you are ready.
This is YOUR program and your needs will determine the content of your Personal Life Plan. You will also be able to get help with other issues such as mental health, drug and alcohol addiction, domestic violence, homelessness &employment. We can refer you to counselling, parenting courses, financial support services and much more.
We are here to help you and support you to achieve success and well-being.
Our trained Mentors will work alongside you, assist you and be with you every step of the way.
Childcare will be paid for so that you can attend the weekly group activity.
We will also help with transport to and from the venue.

Learn skills that will help you with your day-to-day well being and start preparing your career when you are ready.
1. Our Mentor will provide weekly one to one mentorship/support meetings to help you with your individual needs.
2. We will provide weekly group activities like, self esteem & confidence building, cooking basic meals, budgeting skills, stress in the body, meditation and lots more.
3. We will help you design a plan so that you have a roadmap for achieving your goals relating to self-development, health and wellbeing and your career.
4. When you are ready, we will help you find work experience , a course to study or employment.
