Last Friday Bridging the Gap attended the Premier’s Budget Luncheon. This was an excellent opportunity for us to find out what the budget means for our community.
The Premier spoke about how WA is the strongest state in Australia and how now is the time to fund the State’s future projects.
It was uplifting to hear the budget will be used to create local jobs and support the WA economy. In particular he spoke about key investments in health and education, including proposed Hospitality Training Centre and hair and beauty training facilities t Mandurah Tafe, building a second Mandurah Estuary Bridge and a Mandurah Common Ground facility to help people who are experiencing, or at risk of homelessness.
The Premier confirmed that from January 2022 no suburban public transport fare will cost more than a two zone ticket. This is a huge change and will save commuters thousands of dollars per year.
We look forward to seeing the Premier’s investment in action in our community.
