We are proudly participating in the Western Australian Containers for Change Program. Our depot is designed as a social enterprise,  not only helping the environment, but providing a vital training and employment pathway back into the workforce for our local clients.

Through this initiative we aim to increase local employment opportunities while promoting recycling and reducing the number of drink containers that litter our environment in Western Australia. 

Do you want to get involved? Making the change is easy.  Sign up for a Member ID at Containers for Change  (or no need to if you would rather be paid in cash). Our BTG Member Number is : C10241335

Then start collecting your eligible containers (look for the refund mark e.g. 10c refund at collection depots/points in participating State/Territory of purchase. Most plastic, glass, aluminium, steel and paper-based containers between 150 millilitres and 3 litres are eligible for refund.

When you’re ready you have a few options for your refund.

  • Bring your eligible containers to our refund point in Port Kennedy, and receive your 10c per container refund, or you can donate your refund to a community group, registered charity, or school of your choice (including Bridging the Gap!).
  • If you want to donate your containers to Bridging the Gap then call 08 9419 2553 or email mailbox@bridgingthegap.org.au and we’ll come and collect it.
  • If you can’t make it to our Port Kennedy depot then we have a pick up service available. There is a small 3c per container fee deducted for the service meaning you will receive 7c per container.

    To choose a pick up:
    • First download the Recycle for Refunds app:

    •  Choose Containers for Change – Bridging the Gap as your collection service provider and enter the referral code: BRIDGE
    • Fill in your details
    • Choose your pick up date and you’re ready to go. 
    • Allow 5-7 days from time of pick up for your 7c per container refund to be paid into your account.
